5 of 5 people found the following review helpful Great idea with major faults, Kevin - See all my reviews = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Wowwee Light Strike Target Vest (Toy) The target vest is great in theory. It's can be a tight fit if you're an adult with some weight on you, but it's generally very adjustable, and the velcro make it easier to get on and off and move on the fly. The SHOULDER TARGET is the only sensor. Some other reviews seem to think that the chest is a sensor, too. it is not. The shoulder sensor can easily be hit from the front, right side, and back. Being that you're head is in the way of the sensory when being attacked from the left, you might be impossible to hit from that side, but if the gun hits any part of it, it will pick it up. It has to be completely obstructed to not get hit. I have had some issues pairing the gun, but it's been fixed every time by shutting down the gun and turning it back on. Again... pair by shooting at the SENSOR, not the chest pad thing. that will get you nowhere. You can activate your shield from the chest pad itself... or someone else can do it for you by aiming at you and hitting their shield button... The vest closures and sizing does seem to be for older teenagers, but with some cheap ingenuity we got the vest to stay in place on her, as well as affixing a second one she got to her little brother. When we tried to pair the striker pistols with the vest, it was only a bit wonky because of how many buttons you have to hold down. Once we got the hang of it, everything went smoothly. Watching the two kids chase each other around the yard made me almost want to pick up a set for myself.Edit: I just got a very excited e-mail from her, thanking me for the target vest. From the number of "!" in it, I think I can bump this up to 5 stars. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful Read this and save yourself some time and money, Stephen - See all my reviews = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Wowwee Light Strike Target Vest (Toy) I will let the people of Wowwee speak for me " It is normal for the strikers to have the ability to fire once the vest health is depleted." -Wowwee tech support.Under normal gameplay, when you deplete all the health from a gun, the gun stops beings able to shoot. This is how you know you've died. The vests do not carry this same failsafe. Once your health is gone, you can still fire away. And because your gun no longer has hit points, you are effectively invincible unless someone tells you your health is gone. There is no sound that comes along with death and there are no death indicators that the wearer can see unless he looks down to examine his chest. This product might be great if it worked, but as it stands it is utterly unusable. |
