We arrived at the Nerf toy section and immediately squared off. It was time to arm ourselves. My son chose the Shadow Fury long sword (blue) and I grabbed the Battlemaster Mace. When I grabbed the Mace it momentarily became tangled with the Warlock Axe which was hung beside it. My son leapt in and struck me flush on the side of my face during my moment of weakness. I yelped out in pain. The adrenaline coursed through my body and I yanked the Mace free snarling in fury.It was time to teach junior a lesson. I closed the distance between us and parried two of his thrusts. I parried another swing and gave him a boot in the butt. He became frustrated and lunged forward... just as I expected him to... It's length is about 1 inch shorter than the Warlock and probably 7 inches shorter than the Fury swords. That doesn't make it short by any means, and again Nerf has made a foam weapon that somehow manages to be just the right length for both children and adults. For an adult it is a capable one handed weapon and for children it is easily managed with two hands.What you can't really see in the picture is that the mace has 3 blades on the top, the picture makes it look like there are only two. The "blades" on the mace are made of the same squishy foam on the blades of the Warlock Axe. So it goes without saying that impact from this mace is far less painful than the barely padded Fury swords. It's all the same high quality nerf foam as the other weapons so no need to worry about it tearing or ripping off. Currently only available in yellow like the Warlock, it's not really a... Read more 4 of 5 people found the following review helpful goes through hell and back, = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Nerf N-Force Battlemaster Mace Axe (Toy) i recived this as a halloween gift and am very pleased with it. my younger siblings both have the long swords, and one of thier little frieds has one as well. there is nouthing more fun than coming home from class and having a family (dad has a maruader longsword) brawl in the front yard. this toy is very durtable the only damage it has sustained is a slight warping of the blades (i left it on a heating vent, a reversal of the item fixed it). Also, a side note, it is nigh on impossuble to hurt someone with this one (the swords still sting), which is great when i (18 yrs, 6'2 and 300 pounds) get a little to into it, they just charge and beat me down. |
