This toy has its share of flaws that prevent it from being as fun as it looks.

Firstly, it is very hard to pull back. As a 23-year-old adult, it's easy, but my ten-year-old younger brother, who isn't weak, has difficulty drawing back the plunger, especially because it has a long pull, and part of the motion is a little stiff, because it cycles in the next round.. This is the most fatal flaw, but would be much less so if it weren't for a secondary flaw:

This 'crossbow' has no trigger. It's hard to tell in many of the pictures and videos, but there's just a pistol grip. To fire, you simply draw back the plunger and let go, as if shooting a regular bow (a bit awkwardly). Even as an adult with fairly steady aim (I'm familiar with real guns, and have shot a few bows and crossbows), I had difficulty shooting accurately because this clumsy method of firing causes the gun to jerk around.
